FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's golf team is set to compete in the 2024 Mountain West Championship at Emerald Valley Golf Club (par-72, 7,210 yards) in Creswell, Oregon.

The 54-hole championship will be played April 26-28, the teams will play 18 holes each day, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. PT on Friday and at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

THE FIELD

Six MW teams are ranked in the top 100 nationally. New Mexico paces the Conference at No. 20, followed by San Diego State at No. 32. Fresno State is No. 51, UNLV is No. 52, San José State is No. 58 and Colorado State is No. 69.

Individually , six MW golfers rank inside the top 100 nationally.

DAY ONE PAIRINGS

Group 1: 7:30-8:02 a.m. – New Mexico, San Diego State

Group 2: 8:10-8:42 a.m. – Fresno State, UNLV

Group 3: 8:50-9:22 a.m. – San José State, Colorado State

Group 4: 9:30-10:02 a.m. – Nevada, Wyoming

Group 5: 10:10-10:50 a.m. – Utah State, Boise State, Air Force

For rounds two and three, team groups will be set by result.

HOW TO FOLLOW ALONG

All three rounds will be streamed live on GolfKast via GKLive.TV. GKLive will livestream each day of the tournament, from the tee-off of the first group through the completion of the final group, providing coverage with 20 cameras on select holes. Hole 18 will include live play-by-play each day from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT. Jesse Kurtz of the Mountain West Network and Golfweek writer Lance Ringler will be on the call.

LAST TIME OUT

Senior Matthew Manganello led the Fresno State men's golf team through the Duck Invitational, finishing tied for third place in a competitive field after carding a 2-under 211, at the Eugene Country Club.

The Bulldogs finished ninth at the invitational, shooting a 24-over 876.

Matthew Sutherland was the low Bulldog on the day with a 1-under 71 in the third round. Sutherland finished tied for 31st with an overall score of 6-over 219. Mason Benbrook finished 9-over, Ryan Firpo shot 15-over and Joseph Lloyd was 16-over through three rounds.

Fresno State is No. 51 in the national golf rankings.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Ranked as high as No. 46 this season.

Set a new program record for one-round low score with a 21-under 263 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.

Set a new program record for three-round tournament score with a 45-under 807 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.

Senior Matthew Maganello tied the program record for lowest round vs. par, shooting a 9-under 62 at the Nick Watney Invitational.

Senior Matthew Sutherland became the first Bulldog to advance to the Round of 16 at the US Amateur since 2009.

MANGANELLO'S MONSTER ROUND

Senior Matthew Manganello had a career-low round at the Nick Watney Invitational recording a 9-under 62, tying the program record for lowest round vs. par. He had seven birdies and one eagle in the third round.

Manganello finished the tournament with a team-best 10-under 203, tying his career-low. He finished sixth overall in the tournament.

IT WAS A SUTHERLAND SUMMER

Matthew Sutherland had an eventful summer bringing some hardware back to the Valley. The senior won the Sacramento City Amateur and the 99th California State Fair Amateur.

Sutherland qualified for the U.S. Amateur for the second consecutive year, where he became the first Bulldog to advance to the final 16 since 2009.
