Brad Paisley Confesses He Told Chris Lane Not To Propose To GF With A Song

Chris Lane popped the question to his girlfriend Lauren Bushnell almost a month ago on June 18. He went above and beyond for his love by not only recording the proposal but he also wrote an entire song for her that played before he pulled out the ring.

As it turns out, Lane ran the idea by tourmate Brad Paisley before he asked Bushnell for her hand in marriage. Paisley, though, admitted he didn't really like the idea when Lane told him and jokingly let him know how he really felt! “It was interesting, because he told me that he was going to propose, and he had got this song ready,” Paisley told People in a new interview. "and I’m like, ‘Don’t do that."

While Lane may value Paisley's opinion, he decided to go ahead with his grand gesture — and it worked out in the end! His epic proposal has since garnered 3.1 million views on YouTube and more importantly, Bushnell didn't hesitate to say "yes" to her boyfriend.

The "My Miracle" singer confessed that he didn't like the idea of Lane's proposal, not because it was a bad idea, but because it was the complete opposite of how he asked his now wife of 16 years to marry him. “The way he proposed was so opposite of what I did,” Paisley said. “I surprised her, and we were completely alone out on the end of a pier in Venice in Los Angeles. Nobody could really see us, and that was a safety net — in case she took off running down the pier.”

Lane has since revealed more details about his upcoming nuptials — and I hope Paisley still gets an invite!
