Class Of 2019 Artist Caylee Hammack Brings Kid Toy Xylophone On The Road

Caylee Hammack is a new artist relative to the country music scene, but she's been performing as long as she can remember. Added as one of Bobby Bones' Class Of 2019 artists, Hammack is starting to make waves early on in her career. She stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to talk about her start and how she got to where she is now.

At 19-years-old, Hammack had experienced a hard breakup in her hometown of Ellaville, Georgia. Shortly after she decided to make her big move to Nashville so she packed up her car and drove only to sleep in a Nashville Target parking lot for a few weeks until she got on her feet. She had a high school diploma and a fake I.D., which is what helped her land her first gig in the city. She snuck into Honky Tonk Central on Broadway and was told she had to pay $40 to sing with the band. After turning down that offer by saying "I don't pay to sing, I get paid to sing," a guy came up to her asking about her singing chops. He gave her a chance, letting her sing with the band for free. After her time on stage, the man asked if she wanted a job and quickly started paying her bills by singing nights on Broadway in downtown Nashville.

After about 3 years in Nashville, Hammack landed her first publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group in 2016 where she began writing songs for Nashville's big artists while also working on her own career. Fast forward to now, Hammack just got off the road with LANCO on her first tour ever. During that time, she got to experience her first tour bus. 2018 going into 2019 has had a lot of firsts for the young artist, but she's ready for what's to come. Touring the road now, she brings with her a kid toy xylophone and yes, it's actually playable.

Her single "Family Tree" is out now, and you can watch her performance of it here. Watch her interview on The Bobby Bones Show below.
