Bobby Bones has been on American Idol for a few a seasons now acting as the first ever full, in-house mentor for the contestants. He started out as a guest mentor for the Top 24 contestants and then moved into the first in-house mentor for all contestants last season.

The new season airing on ABC in the Spring of 2020 will bring back it's three judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry. Bones was also asked back to continue as the in-house mentor for all of the contestants. This time, he will even be attending some of the auditions.
