What is a good substitute for romaine lettuce? I love romaine and I love my salads, so what's a girl to do?
On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that it's received reports of almost 100 people being sickened by E. coli-infested romaine lettuce in 22 states. The AP reports, the lettuce in question has been blamed on a bad batch grown in Yuma, Arizona and the Food and Drug Administration is looking into two other suspect farms.
So if you can't verify where your romaine lettuce came from, might be best to avoid it for now and if you find a great substitute, can you help a sister out? I need ideas ;)
