Alex Trebek Left One Last Message For World Pancreatic Cancer Day

One of the greatest game show hosts to ever do it, Alex Trebek, passed away from Pancreatic Cancer last week, at the age of 80. He left us all one final message he recorded.

On last night's episode of Jeopardy, Trebek had previously recorded a message for World Pancreatic Cancer Day. He didn't make it about himself or his battle, instead he wanted to use the message to warn others and help them not suffer the same fate he did. He urged people to get checked and tested regularly.

Let's all rock our purple in honor of Alex and to help raise awareness this month for a terrible disease, that has taken so many from the world.

Here are thesymptoms of the silent cancer killer:

  • Abdominal pain that radiates to your back
  • Loss of appetite or unintended weight loss
  • Yellowing of your skin and the whites of your eyes (jaundice)
  • Light-colored stools
  • Dark-colored urine
  • Itchy skin
  • New diagnosis of diabetes or existing diabetes that's becoming more difficult to control
  • Blood clots
  • Fatigue

Trebek had recorded many episodes of Jeopardy before the passed. They will run until Christmas. No new host has been named, but there is a large online petition with over 100,000 signatures to have LaVar Burton host (best known for Reading Rainbow in the 80's, and Star Trek).
