Keith Urban Raves Over Taylor Swift's 'Gorgeously Crafted' New Song 'Lover'

Taylor Swift's new single "Lover" has made a fan of Keith Urban.

On Saturday (August 17), the "Long Hot Summer" crooner couldn't contain his excitement over Swift's romantic ballad, and took to Twitter to pay the singer-songwriter the sweetest compliment on her latest single. "Huge shoutout today to @taylorswift13 on the SUPERB new single LOVER," he wrote in a tweet. "When a song so exquisitely written becomes a record so gorgeously crafted I feel such a deep sense of gratitude for the 'art' of making music."

Much to the 29-year-old pop star's surprise, Swift was totally taken with Urban's kind words. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME THIS IS THE NICEST THING ANYONE HAS EVER SAID - you’re just the best and so kind to say this," she responded in a quote-tweet.

Swift's camaraderie with the 51-year-old country musician is nothing new. The artists have been known to support each other and even shared the same stage together in the past, as Swift served as one of Urban's opening acts during his "Escape Together World Tour" in 2009. Six years later, the "Delicate" musician returned the favor, inviting Urban on-stage during her "1989 World Tour" in 2015.

The dreamy title track to Swift's upcoming seventh album, Lover, and is the latest single to appear on the LP, arriving next Friday (August 23). Right on the heels of its release, the songstress unveiled the entire track list for her new record, which includes previously-released singles "The Archer," "You Need to Calm Down" and "ME!"
