Scott Patterson Returns To Stars Hollow On 'I Am All In'

Gilmore Girls might have been off the air since 2007, but it has never left our hearts – so it’s a great thing that Scott Patterson, your favorite flannel-wearing, coffee-slinging diner owner Luke Danes, is finally watching the show for the first time on his new podcast I Am All In. He answers fan questions, gets some of the greatest cast members on for memorable interviews, goes over all the pop culture references and most hilarious lines, and shares his favorite memories from the set. On this episode, he sits down with Sally Struthers and Rose Abdoo for a hilarious interview (you won’t believe what Sally’s got in her purse, and how she helped Scott celebrate his birthdays on set), remembers how they had to shush the Batmobile from Batman Begins because it was too loud while they were shooting, laughs about how he took the iconic yellow Jeep out to lunch and got in trouble with the transportation team, and much more Gilmore goodness.

Sally, Rose, and Scott chop it up about everything from their new projects to Scott’s baseball career to Sally’s dog’s driver’s license (“I used Bob’s driver’s license once when I got stopped by a cop...thinking it would charm him,” she laughs. “But it didn’t”). Scott says one of his favorite memories from set is how Sally would help him celebrate his birthday. It falls on September 11, so he usually doesn’t celebrate on the day out of respect. Surprisingly, Sally is very strong, so she would “pick me up, throw me over your shoulder, and take me around the set and say, ‘Smack him on the a**, it’s his birthday!’” Scott laughs. “I would have red marks and everything!” Rose remembers that when they got bored, they would play “What’s In Sally’s Purse.” “My purse is filled with things to make unhappy children stop crying on airplanes,” Sally explains, unearthing things like a set of tiny hands, fake chickens, and an extendo-fork. “You have to go past all the props and jokes to get to my wallet.”

Then it’s onto the episode; Scott thinks it set up the entire conflict of the show beautifully in only the second episode, is surprised that Luke and Lorelai started flirting so soon in the series, and remembers how sad everyone was that Alex Borstein couldn’t continue playing Drella. They talk about Babette’s gnomes, Rory and Paris, why Kirk is introduced as Mick for some reason, why Chad Michael Murray was calling Rory “Mary,” the flirty divorced dad, and everything in between. If you’ve been missing your coffee dates at Luke’s Diner, then it's time to jump in to I Am All In with Scott Patterson.
