Jana Kramer reconnected with A Cowboy Christmas Romance director Sarah Drew on the latest episode of Whine Down with Jana Kramer on Monday (November 4). Together, they reminisced on the last time Drew joined Kramer and her cohosts on the podcast, and how the Lifetime holiday movie led to a joke on Saturday Night Live.

Kramer shared a clip from the conversation on Instagram on Monday afternoon. The group noted it had been more than a year since Drew appeared on Whine Down, “where we caused all that drama of the sex scene,” Kramer said. The podcast host, actress, author and country artist starred in A Cowboy Christmas Romance opposite Adam Senn last year, and the movie became the first on Lifetime to include the NSFW moment in a Christmas film. Drew laughed about the “sexy drama,” and noted the joke that appeared on SNL.

Ahead of the movie’s premiere, Michael Che made a joke on Weekend Update: “Next week, Lifetime will air their first Christmas movie featuring a sex scene. The sex scene will finally explain why Santa named that one reindeer Vixen. …That’s a weird name for a reindeer, man.”

Kramer said in the Whine Down clip she shared on Instagram that she “thought for sure I was done for. I thought Lifetime would never hire me again,” after the Saturday Night Live joke. She went on to note, however, that Drew has since written “another steamy one for Lifetime.” Drew confirmed she wrote A Carpenter Christmas Romance, which “has a bit more steam, actually, this time around,” she told Kramer. “I mean, give the audience what they want, right?” The movie is set to premiere on December 21, per IMDb.
