Have you booked your holiday travel yet? Don't worry if you haven't. You still have plenty of time.
In fact, if you're an "early bird gets the worm" kind of person and already booked your flights, you probably paid too much. Google Flights has crunched the numbers for 2025 and pinpointed the sweet spot for scoring cheap tickets...
- For Thanksgiving, the magic window is between 24 and 59 days before you fly, with the absolute lowest prices showing up 35 days out. You should try to book the flight on October 23rd.
- For Christmas, Google says the best deals usually pop up 32 to 73 days before departure, with the cheapest fares around 51 days out. So, if you're flying out Saturday, December 20th, your best bet is to book on Halloween, October 31st.
In general, domestic flights are usually always cheapest about 39 days before departure and 49 days for international travel.
