FRESNO, Calif. - Aliz Kalmar and Jenna Pulkkinen punch their tickets to the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Mar. 19-22 in Federal Way, Washington. The NCAA Championship will be at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center and will be streamed on ESPN+.
The official selection of qualifiers will be announced by the NCAA on Wednesday, Mar. 5 at 12 p.m. ET. The pre-scratch psych sheet was announced by the NCAA earlier this morning, showing which events swimmers have opted to enter and project where the cut line will fall.
Kalmar and Pulkkinen are first-time NCAA qualifiers and the first Bulldogs to qualify since 2016. They will be the first set of 'Dogs to swim the breaststroke events at NCAA's since the reinstatement year (2008). The breaststroker's are also the first pair of swimmers to qualify in the same year.
The 100-yard breaststroke is scheduled for Friday, Mar. 21 and the 200-yard breaststroke on Saturday, Mar. 22. Prelims are set for 7 a.m. PT and finals for 3 p.m. PT.
Both swimmers have qualified for the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. They are both coming off program bests at the MW Championship. Pulkkinen is the programs first ever 100 breaststroke MW Champion and placed second in the championship final of the 200 breaststroke. Kalmar found a spot on the podium in both events finishing second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 breaststroke.
Fresno State has sent three individual qualifiers to NCAA's since 2013, Hannah Prigge (2013, 2014), Dani Yoho (2013) and Ugne Mazutaityte (2016)
