LOS ANGELES – The Fresno State baseball team closed out the 2025 season at the Los Angeles Regional.
Fresno State faced second-seed UC Irvine at Jackie Robinson Stadium and fell 8-3 to the Anteaters.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a three-up, three-down first inning to start the game, the Anteaters jumped ahead of the Bulldogs in the second inning with a three-run homer to left field. They extended their lead with a solo homer in the third and an RBI double play to make it a 5-0 game.
The Bulldogs battled back in the bottom of the fourth as Lee Trevino hit a line drive to centerfield that scored Justin Stransky and put Fresno State on the board. Eddie Saldivar assisted in the Bulldog rally in the fifth inning, hitting his third home run of the year.
A single through the left side in the seventh inning and a pair of RBIs in the eighth extended the Anteater lead by three.
Justin Stransky sparked some life into the Bulldog offense with an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning, but Fresno State was unable to cut the deficit and fell 8-3 to the Anteaters.
NOTES
Aidan Cremarosa finished the season with 119 strikeouts to lead the Bulldogs.
The Diamond 'Dogs finished the year with a 31-29 record.
The Bulldogs are 0-3 against UC Irvine in the NCAA postseason.
