Bulldogs draw 1-1 with Oregon State

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State earned their third draw of the season after their match against Oregon State ended in a 1-1 tie at Bulldog Soccer Stadium on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Anaya Shelton got the scoring started for the Bulldogs fifteen minutes into the match. Alexis Campbell fired a shot that the Oregon State goaltender turned aside, but the ball found the foot of Anaya Shelton who fired one into the back of the net to put the Bulldogs in front 1-0.

Oregon State responded with a goal of their own five minutes later. After the Beavers utilized their speed into the offensive zone, Alyssa White capitalized on a centering pass into the middle of the box, as the freshman made no mistake and tied the game 1-1.

Fresno State and Oregon State limited each other's chances for the remainder of the first half, as both teams were held to just one shot on goal following Oregon State's tying goal.

Looking to find the go-ahead goal in the second half, Kayla Robinson provided a spark for the Bulldogs offensively, registering back-to-back chances in the 66th and 67th minute, but the Oregon State goalie was equal to the task.

The Bulldogs last scoring chance came with under two minutes left in the match when Kaya Scott accelerated down the left side, landing a shot on goal that was saved by the goalie. Kennedy Arntzen would add one more save in the closing seconds of the game, as the Bulldogs would close non-conference play with a 1-1 draw against Oregon State.
