Bracha named semifinalist for Campbell Trophy

IRVING, Texas - Fresno State senior safety Camryn Bracha has been named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, announced by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame on Wednesday. Bracha is one of 177 semifinalists for the 2025 award, college football's premier scholar-athlete award.

Celebrating its 36th year, the Campbell Trophy® recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.

The senior Bulldog boasts a 3.68 cumulative grade point average, and has earned Academic All-Mountain West, Mountain West Scholar-Athlete, and Dean's List honors in his time as a Bulldog. He prioritized academics at the junior college level as well, earning two 4.0 semesters at Fresno City before becoming a Bulldog.

Not only does Bracha excel in his studies, he is a leader on the field. Voted a team captain by his teammates, Bracha is a starting safety for the Bulldogs. He is in his third season with the Bulldogs, and has started all five games this year. He is second on the team with 22 tackles, and has 1.5 TFL and an interception on the year.

In his Bulldog career, he has appeared in 21 games with 83 career tackles, 6.0 TFL, 1.5 sacks and two interceptions. Bracha missed a majority of the 2024 season with injury, suffering a season-ending injury in the fourth game and utilizing a redshirt season that year.

Off the field, Bracha owns Fresno State's record for its "Own Your House" annual stadium run. In July 2025, he became the fastest person to accomplish the run, which involves hitting every stadium stair inside Valley Children's Stadium.

As a local product, Bracha was not originally recruited to come to Fresno State but made the most out of his opportunity after his junior college years. He has been plagued by injuries here, but is making do with good faith and perseverance. Bracha shows leadership in the hard times, preaching a positive attitude towards his teammates who look to him for guidance. His path through adversity has helped lead him to earn the title of team captain, leaving a good impression on his teammates through his various leadership styles.

Bracha is the first Bulldog since Levelle Bailey in 2023 to be named a semifinalist for the award.
