Listener Jerry called in sharing that his son is a huge Swiftie and made a bet that if he didn’t talk for a full week, his parents would buy and take him to Taylor Swift’s concert in Indianapolis this weekend.
At the time, tickets for the first night were down to $450, which was manageable, but the next two nights of the show tickets were around $2K, which they could not afford. They are coming up to the end of the bet and are not sure how to break the news to him that they can’t afford the tickets. He needs four tickets and was planning on spending max $2K for most. Bobby Bones looked up tickets and saw the cheapest option was $5K for a single ticket. Lunchbox suggested they go to the venue and check for tickets right before the show starts because the price might go down, but the listener didn’t want to take the chance.
Swift tickets are in such high demand that Bones couldn't get tickets though his management but did reach out to one person via The Big 98 and he managed to get tickets!!
Update as of November 4th: Listener Jerry and his son Charlie called into the show to detail the bet and how the Taylor Swift show in Indianapolis went!
Charlie told Bones that he made the bet with his dad Jerry where he wasn't allowed to talk for a week. Not only did Charlie not talk, but he was very resourceful utilizing the talk feature on his phone to talk back to his teachers at school. While on the phone, Charlie also shared how the show went. He said he went in loving Taylor Swift as an artist and left loving her as a person. He added that he talked and screamed a bunch at the concert now that the bet is off and he won.
