Bobby has been active in sponsoring special teams lately who need funding.
He recently became a sponsor for a culinary arts team located just south of Wichita, Kansas. Bobby shared the news with his growing list of sponsored student teams and activities, which already includes archery and youth softball programs. A teacher had reached out to him through direct message on Instagram and she teaches culinary arts while also coaching FCCLA and a high school barbecue team. The show was shocked that a high school barbecue competition exists and Eddie admitted he would have loved a club like that growing up. The teacher shared that she had15 students heading to Barbecue Nationals in Texas while 11 students were preparing to compete at FCCLA Nationals. The students had worked hard through competitions, leadership programs, and service projects before asking if he would be willing to help support the team financially.
Bobby immediately responded by asking for the team’s Venmo information and then sent them several hundred dollars. When asked what he would receive in return for sponsoring the team, Bobby did not want anything and simply wanted to help support the students. Amy and Eddie wanted to contribute to the team as well, because they love how different it is and the connection to barbecue for each of them.
The good news is for any other teams looking for help, Bobby encouraged schools and student groups to reach out to him about sponsorship opportunities in the future.
